HISTORY

Idaho Springs, Colorado, a town steeped in gold rush history, was founded in 1859 by prospectors, and the town's origins are tied to the initial discovery of gold in the area which led to the development of the region and the Colorado Gold Rush. Today, Idaho Springs continues to be a flourishing hub of Colorado's gold country, offering a glimpse into the past through its historical sites and attractions.

In 1859, George Andrew Jackson discovered gold in Clear Creek marking the beginning of the Colorado Gold Rush.
IDAHO SPRINGS
